Monthly Wrap-Up: October

Posted on November 5, 2020 by Nadene @ Totally Addicted to Reading in Wrap-up / 30 Comments

It would seem that the year 2020 gets weirder with every month that passes and October was no different,  At the point when I thought the month would end without there being any additional disasters, Tropical Storm Zeta dispelled that notion, Despite not getting a direct hit from the storm, the impact the heavy rains had on the island proved devastating. A few lives were lost and several persons were left homeless.

Below are photographs of Zeta’s impact

If that was not enough, in addition to Covid we now have an outbreak of Dengue Fever.  So not only do I have to be keeping my distance from people I  also have to be avoiding mosquitos, which is proving to be a challenge.

  1. [1 Oct] Rifts and Refrains by Devney Perry ★★★★½

Reading Challenges

I am at  forty – seven percent (47%) of The Kindle Unlimited Challenge, and still at fifty – seven percent  (57%) of The Audio Book Challenge. I had planned to make some headway into the audiobook challenge, but things did not go as planned. I still have two months to see what I can accomplish

  1. Sympathies to those who lost a loved one and/or property as well as those fighting the Covid flu or the fever. I can see why you had a blip in your audiobook challenge plans with all that going on. Still two months left. Wishing you a less eventful November, Nadene.

Sounds like a rough month. I am glad to hear that you were not fully affected by Zeta, but those photos are still scary. They remind me a lot of the aftermath of Sandy where I live.

    • So far for this year, we have felt the impact of two tropical storms. What I don’t like are the hurricanes. We haven’t had a direct hit from any in awhile and I pray it remains that way. Those things are scary as hell.

Thanks for the catch up Nadene wow Zeta did some damage I hope you were not impacted personally. Yes nothing would amaze me any more about 2020. We went through a flood last year and I thought that couldn’t get worse until 2020 happened. Looks like you got some good reads in too! Here’s to an uneventful November 🙂

the only author that i am familiar with on this list is Lori Wilde.. and you definitely had a great reading month

  6. Wow, sorry about the storm damage. With that much water sitting around, avoiding mosquitos is going to be tough. Stay safe! I hope you have a good November.

I’m so sorry about everything continuing to make 2020 such a bust, and please be safe. The warm weather here brought out a few surprise mosquitoes, and they sure look like they’re getting getting bigger these days. Love Lori Wilde books and have a few on my shelf. Sending some hugs your way! RO

Hope things calm down for the end of the year, Tropical Storm, Covid and Dengue sound like a lot at once!
I love the covers of the audiobooks you got, I hope you enjoy them.
I keep running behind on my audiobook goals this year cause I’m stuck at home and much less comuniting time to get my listening done
