Monthly Wrap-Up: August

Off the Blog

August came and went and l am glad to see the back of it. August 1st was our emancipation day and August 6 independence day. Because of Covid the celebrations were low keyed. The government relaxed curfew restrictions during this time, which I believed was a grave mistake because now we have a spike in the number of cases. There has been an increase in the death toll associated with Covid. Several offices had to be closed, including mine as more persons are being infected. I am happy to report I am doing well and will continue to follow the protocols to ensure that I remain Covid free.

  1. Glad you are still safe and healthy even if people at your office are getting sick. It’s hard to have to celebrate national holidays differently.

Looks like you’re hanging in there for your challenges. Looking good on your August reading. I can’t wait to read that new Cecy Robson.

    Have a lovely September, Nadene!

I’m glad you are safe and well. I will in a university town so our numbers are going up and up (we have more cases being reported each day now than we did back in March). It looks like you had a good reading month. Check out my monthly wrap-up

  3. Sorry to hear you are spiking, but glad you are ok. My state flared early, but we are climbing again. I think people are getting tired and not being as careful as they should. The colleges in the US have been trying to combat cases as the kids returned and immediately partied. *shrugs* I want to read the new Barnes book. I like her books.

I am glad you are okay health-wise. I do understand the desire to get back to some sort of normalcy, but there is still so much risk out there. I hope you see the numbers go down again soon.

Your books all sound so good! I am especially interested in Alyssa Cole’s novel. That one is on my wish list.

I hope you have a great week! Happy reading!

I’m so happy to read you are doing well. I’m still only going out to very few places and choosing to go only to places like our library and local Japanese market where I only encounter a few people. I am so glad to see you loved Hush as I received my copy and I also have When No One is Watching on my TBR pile.
