I kissed her and she ran.

She was the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen and the way she was looking at me that night, the electric charge between us, had my jeans feeling snug the entire show. When I found her standing alone between sets, I couldn’t help but approach her.
It wasn’t my intention to kiss her. I should have gotten to know her first. Asked her more than her name. But after watching her while I sang my heart out, I wasn’t thinking straight.
That was more than three years ago. When we were both naïve freshmen.
I’ve been watching her ever since. From afar. Like a crazy stalker. (Not my proudest admission.)
She’s even more beautiful than the first time I laid eyes on her. So when I walk into the rec center and find her waiting for me, alone, with lust in her eyes, I pounce. Again. Like an idiot.
Only this time, I don’t feel an ounce of regret because I don’t plan on letting her run away from me again. She’s been my inspiration for years and it’s about damn time she figured it out.
There’s only one way I can do that… I need to sing her the song I wrote about that night.
About her.
I could try to slowly weasel my way into her heart the way she has mine over the years, but I’m sick of wasting time. I want her to be mine today.
Tomorrow.
Forever.
Because the truth is… I’ve been hers since that very first night.

Colton, aka Colt, the lead singer for the band Fade into Nothing and final year university student is enjoying college and looking forward to the next chapter of his life. The one thing missing is having the girl of his dreams in his arms.  The girl whom he had the fortune of meeting in His freshman year. The one with whom he shared a toe curling and mind blowing kiss. However, circumstances with stubbornness and fear being the main culprits kept them apart.

Fast forward to their final year. The memory of the kiss remains along with their feelings which is stronger than ever. When the presidents of both their honor societies refused to work together on an upcoming charity gala, it placed Colt and Scarlett in the position to take over the planning which afforded them the opportunity to explore their feelings for each other.

I had a wonderful time with this beautiful story, which kept me flipping the pages into the wee hours. Colt and Scarlett are my favourite couple of the series. They were wonderful as individuals. Their personalities were perfectly matched which contributed to their being perfect for each other. Their relationship blossomed without the unnecessary drama and angst. The major obstacles to their relationship lay in Scarlett’s parents’ disapproval and the need to control her life and her fear of losing her heart. However, Scarlett’s strength and independent nature and Colt’s determination, coupled with their love for each other, proved stronger than these obstacles.

Although the romance was free of major drama, a few of the secondary characters brought their share to the story. This provided a peek at what one can expect in the upcoming books. It also produced some surprises along the way. I am eager to learn how all the drama will unfold.

I enjoyed the Tangled Little Truths but the ending left me speechless and not in a good way. The ending occurred so abruptly that it took me a while to recognize that the story came to an end.

I found Tangled Little Truths to be a delightful story about friendship, love and reaching for your dreams. Fans of romance in a college setting will get a kick out of this series.

About Rachael Brownell

Rachael Brownell is an award-winning author of young adult and new adult romance.

Rachael lives in Michigan with her husband, son, snuggly dog, and hateful cat. She moonlights as a bartender a few days a week (her excuse to get out of the house and socialize) and writes almost full time.  Her first book was published way back in 2013 and since she’s released 30 additional titles. She writes all kinds of romance – dark, sexy, sweet. When she’s not writing her next novel, you can find her hanging out with her family, watching her son play baseball, or running on the treadmill at the gym (though she skips more days than she goes). She also enjoys golfing but is still learning, so if you see her on the course… stand back.
