Welcome to my monthly wrap-up for October 2021.
October came and just when I thought it would end an uneventful note the most bizarre thing occurred. Cult activities came to light. I know cults exist, but I never expected that one would develop roots here. I am still trying to wrap my mind around the gullibility of the persons who got caught up in this situation. Signing over their assets and voluntarily giving up their lives because of their faith in the leader to raise them from the dead. Then in a strange twist of events the leader of the cult died in a motor vehicle accident while on the way to court to be charged. Sounds like the makings of a thriller, right?
On a personal level the month was uneventful for which I am grateful. Lockdowns has been lifted, but we still have nightly curfews. However, usual, there are persons who refuse to adhere to the rules.
Reading wise, October was a good month. I had the pleasure of reading three books worthy of five stars. The last one being Malignant by Michaelbrent Collings. It made a lasting impression on me. This story will definitely stay with me for quite sometime.

Yes, that cult leader death does sound like part of a thriller plot. Glad your lockdowns are lifted and yay for so many five-star reads this month. We had a pretty uneventful October, too, and I’m glad. 🙂
Have a great November, Nadene!
Thanks Sophia. Same to you. I received your letter on Wednesday.
The cult thing had me gasping, then high-fiving Karma for a job well done. Geez. Happy November!
Wow, yep that totally sounds like a suspense thriller.
I thought so too.
wow you are still having lockdowns and curfews? that is crazy. Hope the transition goes smoothly for you all. And wow a CULT, that is kinda strange when its so close to home. I meet some people from the fundamentalist mormon church (not the LDS one) and boy its different seeing what they are willing to do.
I am really excited for that Melissa Foster coming out tomorrow. I just loved the first book. And these covers are so swoony!

whenever i see your wrap up posts, i am awed.. i simply can’t seem to keep track (other than the books i end up reviewing on my blog).. but those numbers you posted are cool!
Oh wow a cult… and yes, the leaders death does make it sound perfect for a thriller. Sad that people get pulled into these things.
Looks like you had some good reads during the month.
You look like you had a really decent reading month. Long may in continue into November.
We don’t have 1 book in common this month, maybe next time.
