AmeliaNever make the same mistake twice is my motto. After being left in the dust of an old pickup truck, I promised that I would take care of myselfand never trust another man with a sexy smirk and cowboy boots. Then he showed up, and he’s everywhere I turn. He's at the barn, he's at the bar, and now, he's my roommate. He makes me want things I shouldn’t
AsherI grew up in foster care, and on my eighteenth birthday, I was set free.I spent years coasting from town to town.Staying wasn’t a part of my plan and neither was love, especially with someone off limits. This was all supposed to be temporary.I’m just hoping my secret doesn’t destroy the only family I’ve ever known.
Buried secrets are never buried for long.

Secrets no matter how well hidden always come to light. A truth that Asher, the hero of this installment will learn. Read my thoughts and learn why this series has become a favourite of mine.
Southern Secrets by Natasha Madison is the seventh book in the Southern series. It continues the story of the next generation of characters. This installment gives us Amelia’s story, daughter of Jacob and Kallia whom we met in Southern Chance.
Amelia was a likeable character and one to whom I could relate. Three words to describe her would be determined, hardworking and independent. Single, hardworking and determined to prove she can succeed without help from anyone. She also had no room in her life for love. The reader soon learns the reasons she feels the need to rely on no one and why she refuses to surrender her heart to love.
Asher arrived in town six months ago. Since his arrival Amelia and her family embraced him and treated him as one of their own. Asher grew up in foster care, and his experiences were heartbreaking. He has been on his own from the age of sixteen. Never knew love until he came to work for Amelia’s family. Hardworking, humble, reliable and loyal, with these traits its easy to see why everyone embraced him and treated him like family.
The chemistry between Asher and Amelia sizzled. They tried fighting their feelings but they realised they were losing the battle. Circumstances placed them in a position where they could no longer deny the heat that burned between them. The romance developed nicely and one could sense the authenticity of their feelings. However, it would be threatened by secrets from the past.
I wondered about Asher’s secret. Several theories came to mind but none came close to the truth. The secret brought a slice of suspense to story and its revelation led to some heartbreaking moments.
As always I enjoyed hanging out with characters from the previous books. I had a great time coming back to this small town in the South where secrets never stay hidden.
Conclusion/Recommendation
This was another enjoyable story in the Southern series. I look forward the next story in what has become one of my favourite series.
