Meet Felicity Shields and Brooks Delgado. Eight years ago, they got engaged, but unforeseen circumstances ended their relationship. Fast forward to the present, where tragedy reunites them and sends them on a journey filled with danger at every turn.
How would you cope, knowing your name was on the kill list of a deranged individual, right after discovering your mother’s lifeless body? This was Felicity’s reality. Ironically, hers was not the only name on the list. She learns that four other women, whose mothers were also deemed notorious, were also on the list. To protect herself and the other women, she along with Brooks set out to uncover the identity of the person behind list intending to put an end to their evil plans. Brooks Delgado, security specialist, returned to Felicity’s life at the perfect moment – just when she needed his expertise. His willingness to drop everything and come to her aid without hesitation showed how much he loved. Despite being apart for eight years, their love remained as strong ever.
The antagonist referred to as The Great One seeks retribution against these women for what they perceive to be their mothers’ transgressions. Throughout the story, The Great One remains a mystery. However, it is apparent that they are affluent, influential, and cunning. They possess the ability to manipulate the right individuals to carry out their orders.
Brooks and Felicity didn’t have much time to explore their feelings due to the dangerous circumstances. However, their chemistry was undeniable throughout the story. They always had each other’s backs, demonstrating how well they worked together. It was clear that they belonged together. The story was intense, tragic, emotional, suspenseful, and action-packed. It kept this reader on the edge of their seat, eagerly flipping the pages to learn the outcome.
Whilst Felicity and Brooks got their happily ever after danger still lurks. The Great One’s plans were far from over. At the time of writing this review I had the pleasure of reading book two and the review for that one will follow shortly.
If you are looking for an intriguing romantic thriller, I recommend grabbing a copy of Broken Promises.

I do enjoy a good romantic thriller/suspense book and don’t read them as often as I used to. Great review, I will have to see if my library has this series.
