After months of bad luck and even worse men, Luciana Diaz just wants to crawl under the covers and forget the year ever happened. Her friend has other plans, convincing Luci to attend a New Year’s Eve party on the affluent shores of Kiawah Island.
Luci never expected to have fun. She also never expected to wake up with a man she just met, or for this man to be the new attorney at her firm.
Landon Summers is done with drama. After an ugly separation and even worse divorce, he has no desire to jump into another relationship.
When his sister Trinity drags him to a New Year’s Eve party, he doesn’t plan to stay long. One drink, a few hellos, and he’s out. Until he meets Luci, the first person in months to draw his smile and incite his passion.
Neither Luci nor Landon planned on each other, and they definitely didn’t plan on love. But the New Year means a fresh start, and eternal possibilities neither could deny .

Eternal is book 2 in the Carolina Beach series. This installment focuses on Trinity’s older brother, Landon, whom was introduced in book one. In the first book, Landon is engaged to a woman his family disliked for good reason. However, blinded by his need to protect this woman, he failed to see what everyone else saw. The events in Eternal took place a year after he went through a nasty divorce from the very woman he tried to protect. Since the divorce, he built walls around his heart, determined to not allow anyone to get close. However, he never counted on meeting the beautiful, innocent, and generous Luciana Diaz. The one woman who possessed the power to break through the walls he constructed around his heart.

I had a wonderful time with this story. It was fun getting to know both Landon and Luci, and observing the development of their romance. The thing I liked about these characters was their imperfections, which made them realistic and relatable.
Landon possessed an innate need to protect those he believed needed rescuing. A strength which was a product of his upbringing and a weakness in his choice of a life partner. Thankfully, Luciana was nothing like the woman from his past.
Luci confidence shines in her career, but in her personal life, her insecurities shined brighter. Insecurities, which were a product of her past.

The romance which developed between them began with them tearing up quite a few sheets during one heck of a passionate and steamy weekend. They both had no expectations at the end, but when their paths crossed at Luci’s place of work, it all changed. The development from that moment, although steamy, took a path, where we see them getting to know each other on a deeper level. They experienced a few hiccups here and there, but nothing over the top.

There were sections of the story where my heart broke for Luci. Trying to reach out to someone who is beyond caring about changing their life and who refuses to accept the help offered is challenging. A challenge Luci refused to give up on despite the threat to her life. Not that one could fault her for her stance.

The side characters added depth, and they brought their share of humour and heartbreaking moments.

Eternal is one of those stories that will pull you in with its steamy scenes, heartbreaking moments, a heart-meltingly romance and laugh out loud moments. Readers who enjoy angst free romance will appreciate the story Robson delivered in Eternal.
