I enjoyed Knight of Ruins, the first book in the Druid Knights series, and was excited to continue Arik and Rebecca’s adventure. History, time travel, romance, magic, mystery and intrigue await you in Knight of Rapture.

A threat has followed…Bran, the dark druid, is more determined than ever to get his revenge. His evil has spread across the centuries. Arik will lose all. Time is his weapon, and he’s made sure his plan leaves no one dear to Arik, in past or present, safe from the destruction.
But their enemy has overlooked the strongest magick of all…Professor Rebeka Tyler is dealing with more than just a faulty memory. Ownership of Fayne Manor, her home, has been called into question. Convenient accidents begin happening putting those she cares for in the line of fire. And then there’s the unexpected arrival of a strange man dressed like he belonged in a medieval fair—a man who somehow is always around when needed, and always on her mind. She doesn’t know who to trust. But one thing is certain. Her family line and manor have survived for over eleven centuries. She won’t let them fall, not on her watch… in any century.
Knight of Rapture, the second book in the Druid Knights series, picks up from where Knight of Ruins ended. In book one, historian, Dr. Rebeka Taylor travelled back in time to the 17th century granting her the chance to reunite with the love of life, Lord Arik. In Knight of Rapture, Rebeka and Arik are happily married, however their blissful life would be interrupted. Arik’s nemesis tricks Rebeka into the last time portal, catapulting her back to the twenty – first century and leaving Arik to mourn her departure. However, he underestimated the power of their love. They both would stop at nothing to find their way back to each other.
The events of book one took readers to the 17th century. Knight of Runes, however, focuses on the present with Arik experiencing life in the modern world. This installment delivered a wonderful blend of fantasy, historical romance, time travel, adventure, intrigue and suspense.
I had fun reconnecting with Rebeka, and Arik and interacting with the characters featured in this installment. Now Rebeka is generally a smart woman. However, a dumb moment resulting in reckless and stupid actions contributed to her memory loss. I understood her need to find her way back to Arik, but she failed to examine the situation from all angles. I loved how Arik handled her memory loss. His patience in this installment was a stark contrast to his actions in the previous book. His patience overrode his desire to transport her back to the past, which was a wise move on his part.
The story ended on a good note, with all threads relating to Arik and Rebecca’s story tying up. However, it left the reader hoping for a second chance for a specific character. Also, it would be nice if to see the others get their own stories as well.
Now, although I enjoyed the story, I struggled with a few things. The first relates to Arik’s ability to adapt to the modern with such ease. Also, the way a particular set of characters in the present world bought into the concept of time travel without question.
Overall, an enjoyable read, which fans of time travel, medieval times, magic and romance will enjoy.
I enjoyed buddy reading Knight of Rapture with Sophia @ Books of My Heart

Reading this book contributed to these challenges:
oh this one sounds so interesting here. I have been wanting to try this author out and I like the aspects of fantasy and historical being together.
Lovely review Nadene!
Thanks Renee. I think you would enjoy this series.
Oh I love the sound of this series now I just need more time so for now I’ll just window shop and enjoy other reviews LOL
I can relate. I too could do with more time. 😂
I saw that you and Sophia were buddy reading this and the title piqued my curiosity. I’m happy you found it a worthy installment in the series. I like the sound of it – all the elements seem woven together well. I’ll have to add it to my queue. 😉
I’d love to buddy read with you again. Perhaps in October, after Series in a Month?
Yes! Whenever you are ready.😊
I often struggle with how easily a character adapts in time travel books. Wonderful review. She has two novellas with this series you might enjoy 🙂
I was glad we could get to this second book together, too. I’m with you on hoping a certain someone gets a story since it was left dangling a bit. I thought she was too impulsive when she wasn’t sure what was going on and yeah, the time travel surprise for the soldiers was brushed over a bit as was Aric’s acclimation.
This sounds wonderful. Time travel and memory loss, what a great combination.
This series sounds like a really fun one to read.
Yes, it is fun.
The kind of cover that puts me right off a book {I know! Please don’t hate me} and yet, liking the mix of the historical and fantasy, I think I’d actually enjoy this book.
{Apologies if this posts twice, seems to be a bit of the gremlin in the works.}
No reason for me to hate you. Not everyone has the same tastes and I understand why you would not be drawn to the cover.
It sounds like this book has a lot of good elements. I would expect to see a big adjustment when coming to the present times too!
