When Tomorrow Belongs to Us came on my radar, I eagerly accepted the request for a review, as it featured not one but two of my favorite tropes …. Age gap and second chance romance. Although the story didn’t wow me as I hoped, which was mainly because of the characters’ behaviors, I still had a fairly good time with it.
A young woman's life is disrupted when she reconnects with the high-school teacher she fell in love with. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Lance Turner wanted to help the bright young student whose grades were slipping, but he struggled to fight the sizzling attraction between them. The feelings he had were forbidden. What they wanted could not be.
Unlike the other girls in her class, Megan didn't fall for the sexy, young teacher. But her feelings soon changed when her world imploded and Mr. Turner was the only one who noticed. He was the only one who seemed to care.
He was good to her. He listened. He was her safe haven. But his sudden departure left her devastated.
When they meet a decade later, all she wants is closure but all he wants is a second chance.
TOMORROW BELONGS TO US is an age gap, second chance, steamy, slow burn romance about taking chances and allowing new beginnings.
Tomorrow Belongs to Us delivers an angsty age gap, second chance romance. It tells the story of Lance and Meghan, two souls drawn together out of Lance’s desire to help Megan during a difficult time. We see how their attraction to each other grew. However, the timing for a pursuit of a relationship between them was not right. Then Lance left without a word, leaving Megan to come to terms with the void created from his departure. Fast forward 11 years later, a chance encounter opened the door for a second chance. However, while Lance craved a second chance, Megan only wanted closure. Can Lance convince Meghan that the opportunity of a second is worth pursuing?
This is my first experience with the author’s work and went into Tomorrow Belongs to Us not knowing what to expect. I have mixed reactions to this one. The story is an easy read with a few enjoyable moments sprinkled in between, however; the characters rubbed me the wrong way.
Megan carries grudges quite well. For eleven years, she held on to her grudge. Even after learning of Lance’s reasons (which were legitimate) for leaving, she still can’t let go. She blew hot and cold throughout the story. Lance was a sweetheart, but needs to grow a backbone of steel regarding his ex- wife. Her manipulative behavior left me with a bitter taste and the fact she insists on using their child as a pawn didn’t help. I assumed Megan’s best friend, Arla, was supposed to be the voice of reason. Instead, she appeared unsupportive, jealous, and judgmental.
Lance and Megan’s romance held my interest. I spent most of the story hoping they would work through their issues, because they made a wonderful couple. You can probably tell that there was lots of back and forth in their relationship. The story gives readers a look into the past. This allowed for a greater appreciation of their relationship. Also, it made room for a better understanding of Megan’s struggles as an eighteen-year-old high school student.
Overall, Tomorrow Belongs to Us delivered an interesting story. Fans of age gap, teacher/student, second chance romance can consider adding it to their reading list.

Reading this book contributed to these challenges:

Hmm, her grudge is what I don’t like in some second chances b/c it feels too hot for such a long time between and she knew why. But I’m glad you saw they were perfect for each other, too.
I feel the same way. Life is too short to be holding grudges.
I am not a fan of angst, but I love the cover.
Yes! The cover is beautiful.
