Could my fake fiancé be my Christmas miracle?
What’s a girl to do when the man who dumped her for bright lights and big city dreams comes home with his new fiancée for Christmas?
If you’re me, you ask your hot, tattooed, sexy firefighter best friend to be your pretend fiancé.
It’s the perfect plan.
But in Santa Claus, Indiana around Christmas, things are never that simple.
As best friends, Dax and I have made it through braces, breakouts, and bad breakups. Can we survive faking a relationship when there’s spiked eggnog, mistletoe magic, a roaring fire, and very real feelings involved?

I have been in the mood for Christmas stories and so I had no reservations in picking up The Christmas Proposition by Mika Jolie. This was a sweet, heart-warming and fun friends to lovers’ romance.
This latest book from Jolie tells the story of Noelle and Dax. These two have been best friends since grade school and have always had each other’s backs. Therefore, it came as no surprise when he suggested they pretended to be engaged when it became that her ex was returning home with his new girlfriend.
Now Dax has been in love with Noelle for as long as he could remember. However, by the time he figured it out she was dating someone else and so he kept his revelation to himself. The pretend engagement would prove to be the catalyst which opened up a door of emotions that neither could avoid entering through.
Both Noelle and Dax turned out to be great characters, relatable and authentic. Their fears as it relates to moving from friends to lovers leapt off the pages. I enjoyed their banter, which was typical of persons trying really hard to hide their feelings. So, you can imagine the degree of sexual tension that flowed from the pages. Their romance gave me one of AWW moments with its sweetness and adorable factor.
Prior to reading this book, I was not aware there was a town in Indiana known as Santa Claus. At first, I thought it was fictional until I googled. The story provided the reader with an interesting introduction to this town.
Conclusion/Recommendation
Looking for a short but sweet holiday romance, then The Christmas Proposition would be an ideal selection for your library.
