A coach. A student. The rules were concrete. We broke them anyway.
The night I met Toren Greely was the night I learned how to lie. He was a Treasure State football coach. I was the star of the volleyball team. Coaches and students were forbidden. My future was on the line, so I told myself it was only one night.
That was the first lie. They got easier to tell after that. The lines blurred. The boundaries shifted. Our relationship became a game of its own.
A chaste smile. A knowing glance. A veiled touch or a hushed kiss. We hid in plain sight. We were invincible. Or so we thought. Neither of us saw the blitz coming until it was too late.
Game over. The night I left Toren Greely was the night I learned how to lose.
The first book in the Treasure State Wildcats series portrayed Torrent as a guy not looking for commitment. Someone who found the occasional hookup satisfying. Well, all that would change in Blitz, after an unexpected encounter with the mysterious and beautiful Jennysyn. They shared an incredible night of passion that would forever be burned into their memories.
Then, as fate would have it, when the two paths crossed again, they discovered the heartbreaking truth. Torren is the football coach for Treasure State University, while Jennysyn, a recent transfer from Stanford, is a student athlete. Number one rule of the university, no fraternization between students and teachers or coaches. A relationship between them would destroy what they both worked to achieve.
Jennysyn’s life was a mystery. Readers are aware that while she plays volleyball, she is trying to discover what she wants from life.
Her transfer to Treasure State was her chance to learn where and how volleyball fit into her future. What she never planned for was falling in love with someone who was off limits. Torren’s life is one of pain and heartache. However, despite all the losses he experienced in life, he remained strong.
From the moment these two met, their chemistry could not be denied. No matter how much they tried to avoid each other, and they surely tried, their attraction to each other proved stronger. Soon, there were lots of sneaking around. I couldn’t get enough of their romance. Although I loved how their relationship developed, I was on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Will they get caught before Jennysyn graduates, or will they be able to keep it under wraps until after she graduates?
The story gives readers flashbacks about the couple’s first time together throughout the book. So not only did they share a night of passion, but they also shared pieces of themselves. Blitz delivered a superb read from start to finish. So far this is my favourite of the series. The intention behind this story is to have one completely invested in the lives of the characters. To have one rooting for their happily ever after. This one left me longing for more.
Fans of sports and forbidden romance in a small town setting will want to add this to their reading list.

Reading this book contributed to these challenges:
Small town. Sports romance. Both things I enjoy in a romance. 😀
The chemistry sounds wonderful… I love when they try to deny it!
Well that sounds good, I’m glad you liked it.
I liked it too. The flashbacks were done well.
