I did the last thing I ever expected to do. I bought a boat. A beautiful boat that was all mine to spend the summer on.
Only thing I was looking forward to was the calm being on the water brought me.
A place where I wasn’t a hockey dynasty princess or the only single girl of the family.
What I wasn’t looking forward to was the broody man in the boat next to me.
I was at the top of my game two years ago.
Then it all came crashing down.
I hung up my skates and vowed to never play again.
I was good at hockey, but hockey was bad for me.
I planned to spend my life on my boat with my dog.
Alone. Happily alone.
Until she came along.
Vivienne Grant is a product of hockey royalty. Now, while her family lives in Dallas, she resides in New York and every summer she would join them. This time around she purchased a boat to spend the Summer on it. While spending the Summer on the boat, she hopes to work on her next novel. Her family doesn’t know she’s a bestselling author. The scenery and the peaceful surroundings provided the perfect environment for her to get some writing done. However, the one downside she never counted was her sexy but grumpy neighbour, Xavier Montgomery.
Xavier is content in his life of solitude and has no desire to get close to his new neighbour. His support dog, Beatrice, however, refused to stay away. Soon he found himself drawn to her for an inexplicable reason. Eventually, the two became closer. When he discovers her connection to the world of hockey, he realised he cannot escape his past. So the only way he can truly be with the woman he loves he would need to re-enter the world he left behind and speak his truth.
Wow! Made For You brought tears to my eyes and trust me, that is not an easy feat. My heart broke for Xavier on learning the reason he left the career he loved. Mental illness is no joke and without support, persons may find themselves in an impossible situation. I read about this topic often, especially in romance, and Madison does a wonderful job portraying the situation.
Despite all he went through, the fact he walked away from what he loved to protect his sanity showed his courage. A courage which was further exemplified when he decided to re-enter that world and took steps to protect his mental state.
The romance which developed between Xavier and Vivienne was steamy, sweet and swoon worthy. Aww! They were great together, and I kept rooting for them. They accepted each other, flaws and all. I loved how Vivienne’s family embraced and supported Xavier.
Made For You is a wonderful story about love, strength, courage and resilience.

Reading this book contributed to these challenges:
Grumpy/sunshine is one of my favorite tropes. It might be because I live it everyday!
Ya cannot beat sweet, steamy and swoon-worthy!
Oh wow fantastic review Nadene I’m so glad that authors are tuning in more to social problems. I want to try this should I read #1 first?
Debbie, it can be read without needing to read book #1
Oh this sounds really good. I love it when the characters have some real world problems they have to get through.
