Gabriella Stone Moving to LA was my dream since I was thirteen. By the time I was twenty, I was sought out by some of the most beautiful people in the world to take their pictures. No one cared that I came from a hockey dynasty. Everything was perfect. Then I met him. It was supposed to be a one-time thing. But it ended up being more. So much more. Until he betrayed me.
Romeo Beckett Growing up in LA, everyone knew I came from Hollywood royalty. Following in my father's legendary footsteps, I learned early on not to fall for the shallow shine of this city. When I met her, I didn't know she was what I'd been looking for. In one night, I ruined everything. She left without a second thought. I've spent every day since becoming the man she deserves. She thinks it's over. She's wrong. It's time to win her back.

As a huge fan of the author’s work, I had high expectations for this installment. Unfortunately, it did not go the way I hoped. The story maintained the humor and family banter as one expects from the author, but the romance fell flat.

From the moment of the hero and heroine’s introduction, it was clear they had history. Readers receive background information regarding their history. While this Information helped to colour my perception of the hero, it failed in getting me to buy into their relationship.

Made for Romeo picked up eight months after the couple broke up. Romeo came to Dallas hoping for a reconciliation. After what he did to Gabriella eight months ago, getting a second chance will not be easy. There was a lot of groveling on his part. It took me sometime to accept him given what he did. However, I did eventually warm to up to him as he seemed genuinely apologetic.

Gabriella is calm and not one to make waves. A trait we see played out throughout the story. Also, as it relates to her past with Romeo, the story tells readers how calmly she reacted regarding the situation which led to their breakup.

As mentioned earlier, the romance did not work for me. I didn’t feel their connection, and it lacked the authenticity that I expect from the author’s romance stories. The one thing which remained constant was the steamy moments Gabriella and Romeo shared.

Now, while I had major issues with Romeo’s role in the breakdown of their past relationship, I appreciated his growth throughout the story. Here is a man who willingly acknowledged his mistake and took responsibility for it.

Although not my favorite, Made for Romeo was still a likeable read.
