WWW which is hosted by Taking on the World of Words
It’s open for anyone to join in and is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.
Scroll down to see what I am currently reading, what I hope to be reading and what I read.

The three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

I hit a slight slump in my reading. I managed to read two books in the past week. This was mostly due to me not being in the mood for reading, which was rather strange for me. I chalked it up to the fact that I was emotionally and physically drained. I
hope to regain my momentum in the coming week.

CURRENTLY READING

Smart and Spicy, The Children of The Gods Paranormal Romance Series will keep you at the edge of your seat!

Since the dawn of human civilization, two warring factions of near-immortals – the descendants of the gods of old – have been secretly shaping its destiny. Kian’s small clan championing progress, freedom and peace; their powerful enemy propagating ignorance, hate, and war.

Leading the clandestine battle from his luxurious L.A. high-rise, Kian is surrounded by family, yet he feels alone. Descending from a single goddess – the only one to survive the ancient cataclysm that wiped out the gods and most of their immortal offspring – clan members are forbidden to each other. And as the only other known immortals are their hated enemies, Kian and his kin have been long resigned to a lonely existence of fleeting trysts with human partners. That is, until Kian’s sister Amanda – a researcher of paranormal abilities – makes a game changing discovery; a mortal seeress who she believes is a dormant carrier of their genes.

Ever the realist, Kian is skeptical and refuses his sister’s plea to attempt the Dormant’s activation. But when his enemies learn of the highly coveted soothsayer’s existence and attempt to grab her, he rushes her to the safety of his keep. Inexorably drawn to Syssi’s shy beauty, Kian is startled by feelings he had sworn off long ago. Tormented by past mistakes, he wrestles with his conscience as he is tempted to explore her budding interest in the spicy passions he favors.
When Syssi’s paranormal foresight lands her a job at Dr. Amanda Dokani’s neuroscience lab, it fails to predict, not only that her boss is an immortal who would drag her into a secret, millennia-old battle over humanity’s future, but the professor’s imposing brother who would alter her own.

Despite his better judgement, will Kian succumb to Syssi’s irresistible pull? And will Syssi discover that the man igniting her startlingly dark desires is a nearly two-thousand-year-old immortal?

Warning. This book contains hot scenes and adult themes. Reader discretion is advised.

I received this Dark Stranger through the Amazon Prime program. I found the premise intriguing. It is definitely different from what I have come to expect from the paranormal/urban fantasy genre. As I am writing this post I am 35% into it, and so far it is ok.

Trust the enemy?

Desperate to escape her kidnappers, Kody Cameron can turn to only one man…and he’s holding a gun. Outnumbered and trapped in the deadly Everglades, she has little recourse, but something in this captor’s eyes makes her believe she can trust him. Does she dare to take the risk?

Undercover agent Nick Connolly has met Kody before and knows she might very well blow his cover. Though determined to maintain his facade, he can’t let Kody die. He won’t. And his decision to change his own rules of law and order are about to make all hell break loose.

I am reading Law and Disorder courtesy of Barnes and Noble serial reads.  I am currently at chapter 6 and I am yet to be wowed.

Hopefully as you read more of the Law and Disorder book, you’ll start to like it. It seemed to get better as the book went on. I read it for a review. My current reads are “Become a Better You” by Joel Osteen & Book 3 of the “Fairhaven Chronicles” series by Sharon Downing Jarvis. I will be starting “Dunkirk” next and really want to see the movie. I enjoyed visiting your blog. #GetSocial17

  2. Reading slumps suck. Hope you come out of it soon!

Currently reading: The Phoenix Cycle by Bob Collopy & Stack Your Bones by Ruthie Fraser

Just finished: Barry’s Deal by Lawrence Schoen (beta) & Lockdown by Laurie R King

Up Next: Venetian Blood by Christine Volker & Open Your Heart by Ruth Cherry

    #getsocial17 running late!

  3. I go through little spells where I don’t feel like reading too. I’m currently having a review writing block which is frustrating. I hope you get your reading mojo back this week.

  4. I’m so curious about White Hot. Glad that you loved it. Wow, 5 stars? You make me want to start it now. I hope you enjoy Run To Ground. It has a great cover. The dog is the winning factor. Haha..

Enjoy the one you’re currently reading. ?

Reading slumps are the worst! I was in a mini one recently, but I think I’m coming out of it. Fingers crossed! 😉
