Hello, Friday bloggers and fellow bookworms.
BookBeginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader, and The Friday 56 – hosted by Freda’s Voice are the hosting sites for the Friday link ups, where we discover more books, and make friends. Both involve sharing excerpts from a current book – the beginning and – you guessed it – page 56
My Book Beginnings:
Today I decided to post my Book Beginnings and Friday 56 on
Forever Marked  by Jesse Lorenzo.  I read this book as part of the Quirky Blind Date .  I found it to be intense, gripping and suspenseful.

Now was her chance. She took advantage of the momentary distraction gifted to her and wrenched herself from his vice-like grip. Fighting him off, she clawed her way to her feet. Her short nails ripped painfully in her effort to get away. Mustering up all the strength she had, she raced to get out of the tiny room. She didn’t get very far, her momentum suddenly halted when she felt a punching blow and then a dragging pain slash down her back. She shrieked out as the intense burning sensation traveled through every nerve in her body. Only then did she realize that her flesh had been flayed opened, exposed.

Wow! This beginning was intense and it definitely made me want to find out what was going to happen next.

Ellora just shrugged; it had always been hard for her to ask someone for help, or let them see her vulnerability. She didn’t like feeling helpless. Plus, how would she bring up that subject? ‘Hi, my name’s Ellora. I’m homeless, I was almost killed, and oh yeah, check out this bodacious scar on my back. Isn’t she a beaut?’

What is the book about

If you were a marked woman, how far would you run? At only 23 years old, Ellora’s life is turned upside down. She captures the unwanted attention of a dangerously ruthless man who’ll stop at nothing until he possesses her. Haunted by nightmares of the brutal attack she survived, Ellora flees the country desperate to hide. But the longer she runs the deeper his obsession grows.

Behr is a hard working bachelor who’s life is stuck on repeat. That is until a beautiful stranger stumbles into the local pub and into his heart. Even though he’s immediately drawn to her raven black hair and deep green eyes, he knows she’s hiding a secret. One he’s determined to uncover. Can Ellora stay safe in this small harbor town? Or has the twisted game of cat and mouse just begun?

What do you think? Would you continue reading?
