When building a case against a drug trafficker, she’s assigned to a DEA task force led by the one man she can’t shake. She has no idea if this case will bring them together or tear them apart.
DEA, Noah Johnson, risks his life every day. With a world filled with blood and bullets, he’s unwilling to chance Savannah’s life. Keeping her at bay for years, Noah has forced himself to never cross that line, but lately, he can’t get her out of his head. From the moment I began reading I knew I was in for a treat. Although there were moments which I thought was a bit over the top, I loved the story. What’s not to love, a hot male lead, a strong and stubborn female counterpart and a villain who is good at what he does? There was sufficient romance, drama and suspense to keep me glued to my Kindle to the very end.
Admission is the first book in the Brass series and based on what I have experienced thus far, I am eager to see what Kaithlin Shepherd will come with next. In this installment we are introduced to four beautiful, smart and sexy women and their equally handsome, hot and sexy male counterparts. They have been best friends for eighteen years as such, they would do anything to protect each other. Throughout the story we get a synopsis of each of their lives which I believe is the author’s way of leaving her readers craving more of them. I enjoy reading about them and I eagerly await the moment when they each get their own story.
In this installment the focus is on Savannah Walker and Noah Johnson. Savannah is an Assistant US Attorney and Noah works for the DEA. Savannah has been in love with Noah since she was twelve years old, however, she hid her feelings for fear of rejection. Little did she know that Noah felt the same way about her, but just like Savannah he had his own insecurities. He honestly believed that he had nothing to offer her. However, fate has a way of stirring up things when we least expect it.
Savannah was embroiled in a case involving a Colombian drug cartel and Noah as a member of the DEA was assigned to work with her. Their aim was to bring to justice Colombian drug lord, Matios Vasquez. Working such a case required Noah and Savannah to spend a lot of time together, making it difficult for them to keep their feelings hidden.
Savannah is stubborn, headstrong, intuitive and caring. She will go to any lengths to protect those she loves and woe unto the person who tries to harm them in any way. Noah has a dark side which he struggles with on occasion. The author intimated that he was a dominant, however, I did not see much of this side coming out in the story.
As the story progresses, we see the tension between Noah and Savannah heating up. Then Vasquez is thrown into the mix and what we get is a story filled with romance, danger, action and suspense. Admission is a heart pounding story that had me on the edge of my seat as the events began to unfold. It was very intense. This intensity began with the prologue, which paved the way for the remainder of the story. It drew me in and whetted my appetite for more. I could not wait to find out the course of events that led to this point and what the outcome would be.
The story, which was told from the POV of Savannah and Noah was well written for the most part. There were some aspects that I thought could have been toned down, for example, when Noah kept saying the woman I love. It was already established that he loved Savannah as such I did not see the need to keep mentioning it so many times throughout the story. The author was very detailed in her descriptions which made me feel as if I was a part of the story.
Overall, this was a great read and I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

I was not offered an incentive nor was I compensated in any size, shape or form. This review represents my honest opinion of this title.
Kaithlin Shepherd was born and raised in Canada where she learned to figure skate and crafted a love affair with coffee. Growing up in a household filled by strong-headed women, she learned early on that life is what you make it. You’ve probably never met a bigger country music fan and in the words of Brooks and Dunn, she’s a die-hard ‘George Strait junkie.’ Constructing a world away from her real life, Kaithlin loves the feeling of creating a universe where her fans can forget about everything in their life. She loves writing about hot alphas and doesn’t shy away from turning up the heat with scorching hot sex scenes.
