Catch A Wolf by A. Katie Rose is the second book in the Saga of the Black Wolf. It continues the story of Raine aka The Wolf and Ly’tana warrior princess of Kel’halla. After completing the first book in the series I was eager to read the sequel as such when the opportunity arose for me to read and review it I immediately ceased it.
The story started out with a bang as it picked up where In A Wolf’s Eyes left off. However, after sometime the story began to drag and for a moment I felt like I would not be able to finish the book, but I am glad that I persevered to the end as it proved to be a worthwhile read.
The characters were engaging and very well developed. They helped to bring life to the story. Brutal as usual, was up to his old tricks. He was obsessed with capturing Ly’Tana and Raine no matter the price. He was a cowardly ruler who relied heavily on the strength of his army, which would eventually be his downfall. Ly’tana and Rygel are loyal to Raine until the very end.
They are his tower of strength. Ly’tanna has a really strong personality. She was not afraid to face her enemies and she would fight to the death to protect those she loved.

Arianne, Raine’s sister is an enigma. At first she appeared as if she was fragile
and weak as a result of being enslaved most of her life, but there are moments
when she reveals a side that shows she is a force to reckon with.

In this sequel we see Raine discovering his true heritage and the internal struggles, he faced when he refused to accept his destiny. Nevertheless, after much soul searching and prodding from those close to him, he acknowledges who and what he is, which led to an emotional ending. As a result, I am eager to see what will happen next in this series.
Catch A Wolf shows that all of us were born for a purpose and we must be willing to fulfill this purpose no matter the cost. It also shows us that we need to accept ourselves as we are and not try to be something we are not as this will lead to us living a miserable life.
This was an interesting and entertaining read and I would
recommend it to readers of the fantasy genre. It would best to also get a copy of
the first book In A Wolf’s Eyes.
