A Little Too Wild is the third and final installment in the Madigan Mountain series. I enjoyed A Little too Late and A Little too Close and looked forward to diving into A Little too Wild. In her contribution to the series, Perry delivered an entertaining small town sports romance, which held the reader captive from start to finish.

From Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Devney Perry comes a small town, sports romance.
Crew Madigan is a snowboarding legend. He’s gorgeous, rich, famous and every woman’s dream. Well, except mine. I’ll take a nerdy guy with a clumsy streak who wouldn’t know what to do with a pair of skis to save his life. Superstar athletes? No, thanks. World champions? Hard pass. Crew? Definitely not.
It’s been over a decade since Crew set foot on Madigan Mountain. Instead of sitting with his family during his brother’s wedding, he takes the chair beside mine. ESPN really doesn’t do that chiseled jaw justice. The cameras miss the flecks of gold in his eyes. When he invites me to his hotel room after the wedding, I break all of my own rules for just one night.
But here’s the problem with just one night. Crew is impossible to forget. And he’s not the only one who loves a thrill. The crash, the broken bones, are inevitable. Because together, we’re a little too wild.

A Little too Wild gives us Crew, the youngest of the Madigan brothers, story. Like his brothers, before him, he left home to escape the emotional upheaval caused by the death of his mom. During his time away from home, he made a name for himself in the sport of snowboarding. Twelve years later, he is a legend in the sport. He had no plans to return home, however with Reed’s upcoming nuptials he has no choice but to return to the place which held the painful memories he tried to escape. He plans to attend the wedding and leave the following day, but fate in had other plans. Now he has no choice but to face the demons of his past. While facing those demons, love unexpectedly came knocking.

Raven is a ski instructor and the youngest sister of Crew’s high school best friend. Crew had a crush on her, but she saw him only as her brother’s friend. Laying eyes on her at his brother’s wedding brought old feelings to the surface. Raven has no interest in getting involved with an athlete after having her heart broken by one in the past. Then she laid eyes on Crew and sparks flew and after a night of passion, letting go will prove harder than they expected.

Crew and Raven together were a force to be reckoned with. The chemistry they shared went beyond the bedroom. So when they are not setting the sheets on fire, they are burning up the slopes. They inspired each other and their connection was tangible. I loved them as a couple and wanted them to work out their issues as they tried navigating the rocky roads of their journey.

Raven was a wonderful heroine. Independent, driven, sassy and talented. Now, while she displayed a level of confidence, there were moments when her insecurities reared its head. When this happens, she doubts her abilities and loses confidence in the sustainability of her relationship with Crew. During these moments, her actions were annoying and bordered on immature. Crew oozes charm and confidence. It’s no wonder women were throwing themselves at him. He may have had lots of women in the past, but now he only has eyes for one woman. Beneath the charm and confidence lay a lost and hurting soul.

Like the previous books, A Little too Wild highlighted healing and forgiveness. It was a delight seeing Crew accepting the olive branch offered by his dad. The first step towards the repairing of a relationship which broke down after the death of his mother.

Although I enjoyed the development of Crew and Raven’s romance, the manner it which it culminated left me feeling disappointed. Fortunately, the epilogue delivered some redeeming moments. It was also fun catching up with his siblings and their family.

Madigan Mountain is a wonderful series and A Little Too Wild was the perfect conclusion. It’s sad saying goodbye to these characters, but it was a wonderful journey! If you love contemporary romance which features second chance, close proximity and brother’s best friend trope, then this series is a must-read!
