I received a complimentary courtesy in exchange for an honest review

This is my first time reading a book written by Sue Barr. The blurb indicated that this would be a quick and romantic read. This is exactly what I got. Nevertheless, my thoughts on this book are mixed. I did enjoy reading Man of Her Dreams but there were parts of the story that led to me have several eye-rolling moments.
Man of Her Dreams is set in the small town of Ravenwood, where nothing remains secret for long. Lindsay Swanson can testify to this. Almost everyone in Ravenwood was waiting for the day that Lindsay would find the man of her dreams.
Lindsay is a home renovation expert whose services is in high demand. She is dedicated to her job, leaving her no time for a social life. After a series of failed set up attempts by her best friend, she had given up on finding her dream man. However, this would change when she met the hot, sexy and dreamy Jared McKane.
Jared McKane is a bestselling crime novelist. Tired of the distractions that were rampant in the New York City he relocated to Ravenwood. He needed the peace and quiet to complete his latest novel. However, he was not prepared for the distraction that Ravenwood would have to offer in the form of Lindsay Swanson. The attraction between Jared and Lindsay was shocking to the point that it left them speechless. However, fate would step in and provide them with a second chance to bond. This opportunity arose when Jared hired Lindsay to renovate his newly acquired home.
I enjoyed the characters and the dialogue between them. I also enjoyed Lindsayโ€™s internal dialogue. I found it entertaining and witty. It shows that she had a humorous side and that she was not afraid to poke fun at herself. The sexual tension between them was literally jumping off the pages. I liked how the author built on this. I thought this aspect of the story was well written. It reminded me romance stories could be enjoyed without readers being subjected to every detail taking place in the bedroom. The story moved quickly and it was an easy read. The main characters were developed. They were credible, likable and relatable. They were certainly not perfect. This was evident from a situation that occurred that had the propensity to destroy their budding romance.
There were aspects of the story that left me feeling disappointed. I did like how the situation with the notebook was dealt with. This was one of the highlights of the story. However, I believe it was not adequately dealt with. It felt rushed. It was as if the author was in a hurry to bring the story to an end. This was further confirmed by the abrupt ending of the story. In addition, there were several scenes where I was unable to connect the dots. It would appear that chunks of the story were missing. It was moments like these that had me rolling my eyes. I found it strange that a woman has a premature baby and in moments of being released from the hospital, she is out in public with the baby. This is just one of the many issues I had.
Overall, I found Man of Her Dreams to be a mediocre read. That being said I would continue the series as I am interested in getting the inside scoop on the secondary characters.
