?What Happened in Vegas by Mika Jolie is the seventh book in the Platonically Complicated series. Each book is self-contained as making it easy for them to be read as standalones. This installment features Chelsea and Griffin, whom I met in Paging Dr. Hookup.
Now their initial meeting, which took place in Vegas, did not go so well. It ended with Griffin insulting Chelsea’s career as a social media influencer. Despite this, he was never far from her thoughts and it would appear the feelings were mutual. However, when they bumped into each other in New York, Chelsea’s anger spiked, but she couldn’t ignore the sparks which ignited each time they laid eyes on each other. Sparks, which not only stemmed from anger but also the chemistry that burned between them. Then fate stepped in the form of a malfunctioning elevator, providing them with a second chance.
I enjoyed Chelsea and Griffin’s story. A short, sweet and spicy enemies to lovers’ romance. Notwithstanding the length, the story featured well-developed and likeable characters. A sassy and feisty heroine and a hero who is not afraid to grovel and admit when he is wrong.
Their relationship developed at a swift pace, which fit in with the length of the story. What they shared felt genuine and loved how it all came together.
Conclusion/Recommendation
If you are in the mood for a short, sweet and sizzling enemies to lovers’ romance, then ?What Happened in Vegas would be a great addition to your library.
