White Hot by Ilona Andrews

Wow! After that magnificent ride in Burn for Me, I was expecting my journey in White Hot to be just as amazing. It did not disappoint. This amazing story captured my attention from the first page and held me in its grip to the end. ย It delivered so much more than I expected. ย It surprised me in ways I never expected, which was a good thing.
ย
What I loved
I cannot say it enough; the characters are awesome. I could not get enough of them. ย I declare it now and without apology, Mad Rogan is my new book boyfriend. Not only is he powerful, he is also sexy and enigmatic.ย  Personsย  considered him a psychopath, but their opinions did not matter. The only personโ€™s opinion that mattered to him was that of Nevada Baylor. He wanted her to see beyond what others perceived him to beย  I had fun learning what made him tick. I love the person who he was when he is around Nevada, protective and caring.ย
ย .
Nevada Baylor is not your typical heroine. She is smart, feisty, strong โ€“willed and independent. In this instalment, she discovers that there is more to her powers than she originally believed. ย I enjoyed watching her growing into her abilities after keeping it a secret for so long.
ย
I appreciated the dynamics of Nevada and Mad Rogansโ€™ relationship. Their attraction remained strong, but obstacles of every size, shape and form attempted to keep them apart. The sexual tension was so intense that it is a wonder my Kindle is still functioning.
ย
The story is packed full of nail-biting action, that kept me eagerly turning the pages as I needed to know what next would happen. ย This new case they are working on is proving to be more dangerous than the previous one. ย The danger, the thrills, and the humour made for an exciting read, but what gave it the extra oomph was the romance and the family dynamics.
ย
Verdict
If you have not started this series, then you are missing out on an awesome story. This is a series not to be missed, especially if you are a fan of this genre. ย  Please note, however, that the character development, requires you to read the books in order. ย I cannot wait to start the next book. ย Highly recommend.

Start the Trilogy at the beginning

About Ilona Andrews

Ilona Andrews is the pseudonym for a husband-and-wife writing team. Ilona is a native-born Russian and Gordon is a former communications sergeant in the U.S. Army. Contrary to popular belief, Gordon was never an intelligence officer with a license to kill, and Ilona was never the mysterious Russian spy who seduced him. They met in college, in English Composition 101, where Ilona got a better grade. (Gordon is still sore about that.) Gordon and Ilona currently reside in Oregon with their two children, three dogs and a cat. They have co-authored two series, the bestselling urban fantasy of Kate Daniels and romantic urban fantasy of The Edge.

  1. Okay, okay, I’m seriously considering setting aside their The Edge series to pick this one up and give it a go. I have Burn for Me on my shelf to tempt me, too. Glad you loved book two, Nadene. Have a great weekend!

  2. you are killing me. I really need to start this series. I have book 1 ready to start. Just need to finish one of the 10 I am currently reading x.x

I have a friend that reads this series and really loves it. Nice review. Visiting from Romancing the Readers Blog for #GetSocial17

  4. Great review. I am loving this series as well – but I’m also sad that it’s only a trilogy. I would love to see them continue long term like Kate & Curran.

I met this author at a book signing, but I haven’t gotten around to reading any of her books. After reading your reviews, I definitely need to get on board. I really like the idea of a magician being able to tell when someone is lying. (lol) Very cool.

  6. I loved this book, one and three so much. Andrews team are amazing writers and storytellers. Thank’s for sharing.
