From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Devney Perry comes a small town, fake relationship romance.
Eloise Edenโ€™s pride and joy is her familyโ€™s hotel in Quincy, Montana. Her lifelong dream is to own The Eloise Inn. All she has to do is prove to her parents that sheโ€™s the epitome of responsible. That her days of being duped and making reckless decisions are history. Sheโ€™s so close she can taste it.
Until after one weekend in Las Vegas, she comes home married to a stranger.
Jasper must have put her under a spell with those soul-deep eyes because after a single night together, they woke up husband and wife. Her only hope is to keep this marriage a secret until itโ€™s annulled. Then sheโ€™ll pretend it never happened.
Except Jasper begs her to stay married. To fake it for three months so she can accompany him to a wedding. Maybe sheโ€™s lost her mind to agree. But her brooding husband seems desperate. Itโ€™s only three months, right? Then sheโ€™ll say goodbye to Jasper Vale, and with any luck, hello to her new hotel.

After the surprising ending in Garnet Flats, I eagerly awaited the release of Jasper Vale. Although not my favourite of the series, it was still worth the wait. The story picked up from where Garnet Flats ended. Jasper and Eloise are both in Las Vegas to support in what may be his last featured UFC fight. Jasper is Fosterโ€™s trainer. They hooked up after a night of celebrating and drinking, and then they did the unthinkable. They exchanged wedding vows.

On their return to Quincy, Montana, they sought an annulment. Eloise wanted to keep the marriage a secret as she need her parents to see that she is a responsible adult- and marrying in a stranger while in a drunken state is a far cry from the responsible adult she is trying to portray. However, when someone from Jasperโ€™s past came knocking, he suggested they remain married for a few months, after which they would seek a divorce. Eloise agreed, as this was one way she could prove to her parents that what happened in Vegas was not a mistake.

Now Eloise and Jasperโ€™s marriage may have been fake, but their attraction was the real deal. They couldnโ€™t keep their hands off each other. Soon, a divorce no longer looked appealing. I loved seeing how their relationship developed. They both had issues to work through before they could embrace all marriage has to offer. As a result, there was some push and pull which I am happy to say was not overly done.

I wasnโ€™t sure how to feel about Jasper in the initial stages. This was mainly because he was a closed book and quite grumpy. He barely spoke and little was revealed. However, the deeper I got into the story, I saw his many layers start peeling away and the revelation broke my heart. Despite the differences in their upbringing and personalities, they made the perfect couple. Eloise was the sunshine to his grumpiness. I loved how he stood up for her and protected her. The few times his protective streak came to light had me swooning.

The element of suspense introduced in the last few pages of the story came out of left field. Honestly, I thought it was unnecessary. Although the outcome aided in bringing Jasper closer to the Eden family.

Jasper Vale made a great addition to the Eden series. A delightful story that will leave you with a smile in the end. I am looking forward to Crimson River, the next book in the series. The queen of small town romance delivered as expected.ย
