Almost Broken Up by A.O Peart

After reading Almost Matched I was eager to start Almost Broken Up. I wanted to see exactly which the direction the author was planning to take with this series.  I enjoyed this more than  book one.  My judgement may be a bit biased  due to my love of stories that have an element of suspense and drama.

Almost Broken Up started out with Collin’s POV.  This gave readers knowledge of  the guilt Collin lived with since the fateful night his former girlfriend was killed in a motor vehicle accident. It made Collin appear more human and it made it easier for me to connect with him.

Almost Broken Up  is not so much about the relationship between Natalie and Collin.  Its more about the lengths that Natalie will go through to protect her man. The introduction of two new characters added suspense and drama to the story.  One of whom poses a threat to Natalie’s relationship with Collin. The other will  help in dealing with this threat.

There were moments when I questioned Natalie’s sanity, especially when she made the decision to face the person who had threatened Collin’s life. I say this because it was clear that this person was absolutely crazy. But I guess when you are in love and you have faith in your partner’s innocence, then you will be willing to face any situation no matter how dangerous to protect him. It also helps when you have the girlfriend of a mob boss helping you out.

There were several LOL moments. I found it to be rather hilarious, especially that scene where Natalie, Ali and her new found friend, Svetlana, engaged in a little B&E. I am not going to say much about this as I don’t want to give the story away. To find out what I am speaking about you will have to get a copy for yourself.

The sex scenes between Natalie and Collin was quite erotic. It’s definitely not for the feint of heart.

The author’s writing style is quite engaging as it pulls the reader in and makes them feel as if they are a part of the story.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. Recommended for readers 18+
