The explosive and unexpected ending of Red Sin left me hankering for the release of Green Envy.ย I could not wait to learn what next awaited Van and Julia.ย Well, aside from another surprising yet unsatisfying ending (cliff-hanger alert), the story did not disappoint. Green Envy delivered a passionate tale of intrigue, betrayal, secrets, suspense and romance. The saga continues in Gold Lust.

โ€œNothing is enough to the man for whom enough is too little.โ€ ~ Epicurus
At what age did I begin to question everything?
As far back as I, Donavan Sherman, can recall, I saw the world, not through the rose-colored glasses of othersโ€”those spectacles worn by the individuals who see what surrounds them and are satisfiedโ€”but through vision hued by green.
Life took me along a bumpy path, or better yet, the path I chose led me to encounter obstacles that prepared me to overcome. That journey didnโ€™t sugar-coat the world; it opened my eyes to the true qualities of greenโ€”greed, illness, and envy. After all, even Disney surrounds their villains in green smoke. That green hue created the realization that there is always more, always better, and never enough.
I saw, I coveted, I took, and I conquered.
I made enemies.
Even with Julia by my side, my quest for more isnโ€™t satisfied. There are people I want to see suffer. It seems that revenge isnโ€™t a one-way street.
Will Julia pay the price for my sins?
From New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a brand-new age-gap, family saga, chance meeting, contemporary romantic-suspense novel in the world of high finance, where success is sweet and revenge is sweeter.

In my review of Red Sin, I mentioned the air of mystery surrounding Van. Green Envy provided a glimpse into his past. As the story progresses the reader learns what made him tick. In Red Sin described himself as a wolf who conquered and devoured his prey. However, with Julia, he was a lamb. His love for her knew no bounds. He treated her with so much love and respect. His support and encouragement pushed her to step outside of her comfort zone and prove to everyone who doubted her she was more than capable.

Despite his adoration, he continues to keep secrets from Julia, which came backfired in the end. Darn, that ending. If only he had been more open with her, then the situation at the end may have turned out differently.

Julia demonstrated tremendous growth throughout the series. Her newfound confidence shined throughout the story, although there were persons who still saw her as a pampered princess. Persons who desire to see her fail.

Van and Julia made the perfect team, both in the boardroom and in the bedroom. Their chemistry was off the charts. Despite the romance not being the focus, they still managed to burn up the pages.

This installment moved at a slower pace than its predecessor, but it was still a page turner.ย The movement between the past and the present contributed to this. The events in the timeline from the past intrigued me and left me wanting to learn more. Several questions arose for which I desperately need answers for. Now I am sitting and waiting patiently for the next book. Thank goodness the wait will not be long.

Overall, Green Envy, was a page turning read filled with steam, heart, suspense, plot twists and ending you least expect.
