From USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry comes a small town, enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance.
Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana’s new chief of police, she’s determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn’t earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor.
According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town’s founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town and she didn’t realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty.
Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she’s trying to forget. He’s insufferable, arrogant and keeps reminding everyone that she’s an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths.
As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy’s own, Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer.

I am fairly new to the author’s work. The few books of hers I read, I enjoyed and 📚Indigo Ridge is no different. I absolutely loved this book. The combination of wonderful characters, tight-knit families, charming small town setting, sizzling romance and a mystery, which kept me guessing, placed 📚Indigo Ridge on my list of favourite books for 2021.

Winslow Covington, a detective with Bozeman Police Department, moved to Quincy, Montana, to start her job as the town’s new police chief. However, not all the residents welcomed her appointment to the post. They believed  her familial relationship with the mayor got her the job. Based on the advice of grandfather, the first step involved winning over the Edens, Quincy’s founding family. On her first night in town, she encountered a handsome stranger. Believing he was an out of towner, she indulged her fantasy of a one-night stand, but the next day she discovered her mistake.

Griffin Eden was not looking for a committed relationship, but was not opposed to a one-night stand. After all, the beautiful woman at the bar is a tourist, therefore the chances of seeing her again were zero to none. So imagine his surprise the following to discover his one-night stand and the new police chief was the same person.

Griffin and Winslow  burned up the pages from their first meeting. I loved how the romance developed. Their one night of passion slowly developed into more than they bargained for. Including the mystery added to the addictiveness of the story. It may not have been the focus of the story, but I found it engaging. So not only was I rooting for the romance, I hoped the solving of this case would prove Winslow’s competency as the police chief.

While I loved Griffin and Eden as a couple, I also enjoyed getting to know them as individuals. Griffin was my favourite type of hero, confident, caring and passionate. Winslow’s compassionate nature, fairness, and bravery shined throughout the story. She can be tough while displaying her soft edges.

📚Indigo Ridge completely consumed me. Winslow and Griffin’s story, along with the mystery, kept me glued to the pages. I couldn’t wait to find out how it would all play out. There was a moment where I feared for Winslow. I knew she would come through, but it didn’t prevent me from worrying. That’s how intense the scene the author created.

Totally unputdownable and a must read for fans of small town romance sprinkled with a dash of suspense. If you have not read a book written by Devney Perry, 📚Indigo Ridge would be an excellent place to start.
